MGM Resorts Adopts BCLC's GameSense Program

When gambling, use GameSense. This is a message MGM Resorts International will share with customers across North America as part of a deal with BCLC, a provincial gambling company in British Columbia, to license GameSense, a responsible gambling program. MGM expects GameSense to be fully integrated into all properties across the U.S. within this year.

The agreement, announced at the 5th New Horizons in Responsible Gaming Conference in Vancouver, B.C., marks the first time that a program of its kind is licensed by a commercial gaming company in North America.

BCLC President and CEO Jim Lightbody said, "We believe it is our role to take the lead in providing better responsible gambling programs that support our players, reduce harm, and strengthen the gaming industry as a whole. We want MGM Resorts to recognize the value of our GameSense program, and work with us to further develop the positive role it can play in reducing gambling-related harm."

Introduced by BCLC in 2009, GameSense is an innovative, player-centric, responsible gambling program that encourages players to adopt behaviors and attitudes that can reduce the risk of developing gambling disorders. 바카라사이트

MGM is adopting GameSense to enhance awareness and training of responsible gambling for players and guests, thereby raising the industry's standards.

Alan Feldman, vice president of global industry at MGM Resorts International, said, "MGM is excited to adopt the GameSense platform and build this dynamic research business. Our vision for GameSense is to transform the guest experience at the property by providing improved customer service, player training, and programs rooted in leading research."

As part of the agreement, MGM has committed to providing $1 million over five years for a research partnership between BCLC, MGM, and the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) International Gaming Laboratory. UNLV will help develop a consortium of internationally renowned experts in the field of responsible gambling, and will also work closely with the Gambling Research Center at the University of British Columbia. This will include a multi-faceted research project to enhance GameSense and all responsible gambling products based on new, data-driven scientific expertise in responsible gambling.
